I live in the Heart of Poetry
By Lao Nan Hai
Tr. Chang'an Zi
I shall not search for
That place where the last lilac withers
Because I've seen her beauty
Although just a flash
It is eternal
I shall not ask
Where you are from
and why we always meet
I only believe every greeting is sincere
Whether on the elevator, the corner or the road
I shall not seek the symbol
Which would not be in any poem
Let this wonderful feeling
Invade my dreams like the soft evening breeze
May I sleep forever
I live in the heart of poetry
Here grow romance, equality and freedom
I live in the heart of poetry
Paying no mind to the madness outside
I live in the heart of poetry
That alone keeps me so proud
