To Deng Ying -- Our Leaf
By Sun Xiaobing
when I got to know you, the leaf was so green and tender
when I parted with you, the leaf grew up to the fullest
when I missed you, the leaf began to feel sad and drift away
the leaf belongs to the grass, trees and books
what's more, it's just the witness of our youth

With the Heart as My Cane
By Sun Xiaobing
in the dark night I hold up a heart
walking toward you, you ask what it is
it's a fire, so hot; it's a lamp, so bright
I answer, it's nothing but a cane
burning with the fragrance of journey
and walking toward the distance
you say: I go my own way
without the need of others' light
I answer: I walk near to pray nothing
but the interwoven light in the future sky

Honey Words
By Deng Ying
mostly secret
in true love
often wordless
in true affection
love deep in the soul
can last to the end of life
in one body dwell two souls
the honey words
always hard to be uttered
for fear that the excessive word
is a profanity to pure love
we have been accustomed
to sweet talking irrelevant people
in a very light and easy manner
yet in face of our true love
we fall in fear and sweetness
for fear that thousands of words
cannot express our true heart
so we have to keep silent

Coal
By Deng Ying
sacrifice your life --
to break thro' darkness
in pursuit of the light
A Musical Note Has Gone Away
By Ye Yanbin
a musical note has gone away
the melody is still flying, the song
is still going on over our heads
a drop of water is gone just like that
gone with the splashing, yet the sea
is still there, as boundless as before
a pine leaf has fallen like a needle
on the lichen of the forest, yet the trees
still chant the vigorous pine-waves
a feather of wild goose has floated down from the sky
autumn is still with the flock of wild geese flying in V-shape
and still hastens frost flowers to chase the wild geese heading south
a lamplight has been blown out by the wind
in the wind stands the darkened village, from where
the barking is gradually fading out
a shooting star has flied across the night sky
the starry sky is still as bright as usual, as if nothing has happened
there will never be any story of astray stars
a white hair has quietly left
a hand sweeps my forehead, still searching for
the poetic line that has just been jotted down
oh, a man is gone, we commemorate his death
so he still lives in the time when we're thinking of him
the time will say: he's waiting for you ahead

love is a series of swift movements
like the wind that blows against you
like the hawk who folds its wings on spotting his target
like the lightning that disappears as soon as you notice it
since then, everything

love is Rilke's panther
walking over the iron fence
yet through the fence you look

wait or die

love is a big tree
the sky where all branches
of oak and green maple are interlaced
a small flower under the tree
beginning to bud in the dew
the grass by the flower
and a tomb in the bushes
inside which two people lie quietly

Five Poems on Pain
舒然
By Shu Ran
pain is the bastard of happiness
golden breeze blows over half-ripe cornfields
the moonlight has just passed by
I love autumn leaves so deeply
like loving smoke and fire in the world
pain for once, memory for life
a smile has the taste of waxy corn
I just forget while I keep thinking
and then feel no pain
the old man tells us
not to expose the scar of pain
but to wait for it to grow old on its own
however
the old is aging too slow
the new is born too slow
pain takes the wrong time
what should be old doesn't get old
what should be born hasn't been born
eventually I can play a game with pain
in the early morning I push it to the top of the hill
at dusk I let it roll down to the foot of the hill
each night pain says:
if you do not love me
I will not come in spring
year after year, day after day
when I pass autum hand in hand with it
each leaf on the hill path will smile
the gain of the last moment
will be the loss of the next moment
all living creatures with varioius forms
present a complete picture
all the instant eternity
is the nihility at that time
the heart-broken rain
falls so sadly and movingly
that the thunder sobs
the sounds shocking the ears
beat the uncalm rivers and lakes
so severely that they calm down

O beat your rumbly drum
to inspire me forward
the boundless sky
is the ballet woven by red dance shoes
elegantly taking root in my heart
time and tide will write
your name everywhere
over and over again
life will be engraved
with your sweet smiles
adorning my each day

yet the poetry
holds your red dance shoes
rotating on the neon stage
until the Milky Way ends
another fading story in the world

This Is the Ultimate Sincerity and Purity of a Poem
By Muzi. Red-Maple-Leaf
on the night dominated by destiny
the candle goes out soon after it's lit up
there's no omen for tears to burn into ashes
vanity takes the hand of desire to curb everything
so nice! quenching is closer to perfection than burning
the dawn gently takes off her dreamy dress
so warm, the sun is coming out
the snowy late autumn is thus reborn
the proud red still climbs up her own twigs
still using uncopyable beauty to guard solitude:
for the longing in your past and present life
this is the ultimate sincerity and purity of a poem
so plump yet so light like a butterfly playing with water
each word and sentence stand on the edge of love
laughing at the wet memory brewing emotions in the desire
and waiting for the next night dominated by destiny
you hold the holy fire, igniting the fancy of the first love

By Cai Qijiao
on the difficult road of life
we are like two stars in space
travelling along their respective tracks
with a few gatherings and wordless partings
no one knows how our future fate will be
no one knows if we'll find each other
the snow of time cannot freeze
the tender sprouts of a new life
in every alien and cold place
green dreams can evoke youth
beneath our feet, there may be an ever-running spring
in our hearts, eternal lamps may be kindled
the trees have never felt this
and birds also feel at complete loss
in real life, you're always so far away
in my soul, I call your name night and day

Kleopatra's Demon Boat
Author: Xingchu Erzuo
Translator: Wuxinjian
Chorus:
Inscription: According to archaeology, the high-heeled shoes that enchant modern people were invented by ancient Egyptians. One of the most beautiful high-heeled shoes was called "Kleopatra's Demon Boat" which transformed from a demon descending from heaven. Her magic was so infinite that she could succeed in all attacks, far more than a high-heeled shoe. Just as in the poor spiritual life of the Chinese Cultural Revolution, the novel "An Embroidered Shoe" was widely spread, far more than an embroidered shoe.

in the undivided chaos
through billions of light-years
on the ground of Jurassic earth
under the dusty sky, dinosaurs died out
summer was so cold in so many long nights

and presented it at the Kroba's palace

Sphinx, old one-eye, right away
help me assemble all the Imperial Navy
I want to take the flagship at the forefront

(female) travelers say
she condenses the Mediterranean style in her palm
and puts all the Burgundy romance into the wine-glass
(male) foodies say
she's so fragrant when they smell her
and like mellow wine when they drink her
(female) designers say
she's generous, natural, exquisite and dynamic
like flowing light and color, so gorgeous and bright

yet I ignite the jadized tree just like seeing the island's ancient times

yet the wood's regreenized after it's broken away from jade

I sit in my dream and write poetry
writing the yearning you send me by breeze
and the sincere love I've never uttered
I always try to veil my mind
only afraid that night rain in the blue sky knows my secret
and I can't pick up fallen flowers on the ground any more

O Motherland, I Want to Burn
By Ye Wenfu
when I was still the seedling of a green pine
the earth endowed me with a noble sentiment
I aspired to be a pillar, devoting myself to mankind
each twig and each leaf didn't fear snow swords at all
unfortunately, I took my root in a deep canyon
growing on and on yet couldn't outdo the hilltop grass
I desperately sucked the dry breasts of my mother
only wanting to hold the ideal high up to the skies
I really overestimated myself: childish! ridiculous!
ignorance made me unable to see my ignoble cells
so I suffered the punishment I deserved -
the unprecedented storm sprayed into my face
O the world was turned upside down...
O mountains and oceans roared...
the great orogeny buried me in the deep stratum
-- I was dead, when I was in my very first youth
I was dead! the young body was in cramp underground
I was dead! the undying spirit was still fighting and crying
"I want to go out! I want to go out! I want to go out --
my ideal is not to stay in this dark prison! "
during the long years, I have been tortured so much
yet the light of my ideal is still shining in the heart
I've become a coal, still risking my life to hit the hell's knocker
"O motherland, my motherland, I want to burn!"
how thick the crust is, how illusory the hope is!
how I wish to see a thousand sunward tunnels flash in front of me!
I want to go out and turn into raging fire in the furnace
"O motherland, my motherland, I want to burn --"

——题记
I don't know the age and time of this story, but I firmly believe that this is a true story. -- Inscription
a snow-white pigeon
shot by a silent iron bullet
falls onto a window forgotten by the sun
the window of the prison
on the iron shed with bloody rust
the final free wind still blows
on the snowy feathers
an icy rock's imprisoned in the cell
on a dead body
there're only two undying eyes
the undying soul
gazes at the window
where the prisoner is tied
the breathed perseverance and expectation
a pair of wings so soft like clouds
peacefully rest on the prisoner's chest
the stone with a human heart
is a stone, yet with human warmth
the prisoner's heart is also warm
what terrible warmth
melting the pain carried by the bullet
which lets the pigeon forget the flight
regarding the cell as the sun
what dangerous whiteness
the pure snow-white wings
let the prisoner's eyes forget the window
and let him forget that a person
should be enjailed here
the prisoner's chest
and the warm pigeon nest
are warming everything
everything is forgotten
but the injured wings (although injured)
will not forget
but the prisoner's heart (although imprisoned)
will not forget
the wings that refuse to forget
are asking the heart that refuse to forget
-- what do you need most? freedom!
-- what do you love most? flying!
so the wings ruthlessly fly
desperately pull up the pigeon reluctant to leave
the pigeon's claws still clench
the prisoner's bloody forepart of his coat
so the prisoner’s heart heartlessly orders
the shackled arms to put up quiverily over the head
and hold the pigeon out of the window
O fly high, O fly high
the white pigeon belonging to the sky
there's no warmth in the cell
love cannot be imprisoned in the cell
in the cell there's always
an imprisoned soul
with wings that cannot be cut off
and yearning for freedom and flying
the prisoner always watches the white pigeon
that prison window
is an eye that'll never close
never and never
just for the pigeon wings on the chest
flip in the prison where white clouds
accompany the gloomy coldness
a heart that will never turn cold

I sprint in ever-bumpy billows
the heaven is always so beautiful
the moon vanishes in the blink of an eye
the drunken sun groggily rises in the sky
where did he have an banquet last night?
the air is filled with strong wine fragrance
I am tired, very tired, too tired!
there're seductive islands everywhere
with green grass and beautiful flowers
but I cannot climb up... because
I neither live for the greed on life
nor die for the fear of death
what is it between birth and death?
I think it should be a straight line
the human body draws on the waves

I Tell My Son
By Xu Jingya
when you were born
someone was playing chess
having lost the bull's-eye
we stand on the stars
and shoot at the sky
son, it's really nothing for me
to pass my breath to next generation
what I gave you first was an ear
you should hear
someone always called your name
in front of you
there will be a very ugly person
sneering and sitting down to drink wine
that's a friend who doesn't know my name before my birth
he and I even have not opened a box for all my life
in my generation
fragrant, melodious yet bitter
Beethoven’s mane swept like music
yet I had never sung happily for a single day
it was not the case my dad didn't reach out his hand
in the end, what I was holding
was still all the fingers of my own
only the wind in my heart could bear witness
each of my fingerprints was full of storms
your father
is not a mild man
just because I think too well in my heart
what I have said is always not good
I have been writing with my left hand all my life
yet had to reach out my right hand when shaking hands
oh, my son, this is the fate
that I've chosen for our family
so rudely before your birth
I've already been me
you are being you
but I still would like to tell you
others go left, you go right
contrary to the world --
how charismatic
one day, my strength
will slip away completely
when your biceps are congestive
I am having a date with your strength
I won’t leave you for even one day
but secretly follow you to go everywhere
no matter whether I'm alive or not
son, before setting out, you should
wipe the old-style pointed leather shoes
to be extraordinarily profound for me
one person, for all his life
hasn't have a few rivers to cross
I finally understand, the silence
that I've never learned well
is really the greatest piano
the button missed on my chest
has leaked all my bullet holes
in the whole world, I only choose
one person as my extending line
son, only your sight
can wipe my unbendable back
you should follow the keel's curve
to look for a woman
a man can make water
go upward
your father has failed
to learn flying secretly all his life
I give my broken wings as a gift
to you like an old handkerchief
just feel free to fly as you wish
your heart is the sand
scattered by me and a good woman
your heart, let it beat as you like
as your father, I only hope that
you think of me at your emptiest time
only ten times all your life
only one second for each time
how I wish
you live a life safely
but life is always so uneven
one day, when the sea billows
I hope that you just stand there
now let me repeat it again
when someone calls your name
you must make a reply
son, please remember
You should always be
as beautiful as my regret

Right at Her Prime
By Ye Rugang
right in her most beautiful season
she smiled, so flowers bloomed everywhere
in the peaceful water, her child was born
just like a plateau antelope opening its eyes
she kissed him, holding him in her arms
she feeded him, giving him sweet breast-milk
the past hardship feels like the thorns
a long journey across deserts and plateaus
oh, mom, your child returns
from the other shore so far away
back to your side by riding the waves
your old smile's beautiful and gorgeous
your child sheds happy, grateful tears

Mother
By Yang Jingrong
the cloud's mother is the long river
when the cloud longs for its mother
it turns into tears sprinkling to the river
the river's mother is the sea
the river runs to the sea all the time
in the spindrift echoes a yearning song
the sea's mother is the vast starry sky
the seawaves whisper while looking up
the seatide takes the starry sky home
oh, my yearning, like the cloud
the sea, the starry sky and the river
I call my mother to the blue sky
the sea stops waving in the night so quiet
a red-crowned crane flies over the starry sky...
