Roses
By Ying Deng (Klein)
Tr. Beatrice
Roses, roses
The tender regards of roses,
In the samsara of the four seasons
Never wither.
From the outset
She receives the flower,
Deep in her heart
Remains its fragrance forever;
Your hands
Can still remember clear
Its aroma?
With too many burdens,
She reads it in admiration
Which are lost in a cloud;
Her dress becomes loose gradually;
She’s fair as a flower, now past her prime;
Yet how many regrets are left?
A woman’s affections,
Are not set on you
Since encounter;
But along the way
She never forgets
The beauty you’ve endowed.

The Flavor of the Sun
By MU Zijing (Germany)
Tr. Beatrice
Like the golden hair of fairies
With the moisture of taking a shower
And with a swing casually but coyly
Ah, the tops of green grass stalks
Begin to cheer in tears excitedly
Shadows of trees on a chain of mountains
Are playing hide and seek naughtily
Birdies are twittering
Hopping and hovering among shadows
I open the windows
To take a deep breath of this immortal flavor
Then, the internal organs of my body are also warm and cheerful
Ah, all things are bright and splendid
Which resonates like a chorus of angels
White clouds in the blue sky
Are a fine gauze draping the shoulders of fairies
While I
Bathed in this beauty
Sing lives
My sun

Whose Love Ripples and Flows in Clouds and Mist
MU Zi (Maple Leaves Red)
Early this morning I get up
Open the door of Maple attic to welcome the rising sun
But find somebody’s love ripples and flows in clouds and mist
There’s also light in the air
And one or two clauses, three or five stichs
“For me, for me”, the sound of nature banters my mind
The days, once armed with armor
You enter directly without resistance, but you can’t garrison my heart
In July I’m bleeding, in August I’m heartbroken
The winding road to October is filled with wilt until no light is in sight
Dreams, are swinging, swinging
Hopes, are clearly in heaven, clearly on you
From now on, we’ll bare our hearts to each other
And sing love at dawn and dusk
And prevent demons from pouring the sea, and tearing down the sun
And to save souls, to punish savages
I lean on your arms in beautiful and graceful manner every minute
There’s smell of maple trees atop mountains and by the waterside
Dear, will your heart be homeless?

You Come to Me Pulling the Moon
By MU Zi (Maple Leaves Red)
Autumns are always filled with joys
You come to me pulling the moon
Baptized souls blend with broad love and beauty
Tottering blooms and leaves
Intoxicate the nuzzling at each corner of the city
Don’t speak of the millennium promise, please
Nor vow to wait for me on the road to the other world
But smile in this autumn when we encounter
The pleasure of rise and fall of each dark blue ripple
Slips into the remote slumber
We won’t say goodbye
But thinking constantly of each other is the predestination of prelife and this life
Enclasp the eerie predestined relationship
Enclasp the poetic feelings of listening to wind and rain
Standing on the bridge of time
Describe the love of the flowing nights and days through the sky
Even if winter comes, there isn’t secluded coldness
The light of our hearts has already hung on the life tree
Traverse the desolate tombs without monumental inscription
Walk out of the swampy land dragging the miseries of the underworld
Let the tenderness of maple leaves purify your heart

Between You and Me —— Memories of Love
By Ying Deng (Klein)
Tr. Beatrice
With dust and sand around, wind and smoke fill cities，
You and I, in the primitivity of time,
Meet by chance.
You trample vicissitudes of thousands of years,
I hold in the palm of my hand waiting for three lives.
Our eye contact,
Brings the shock of primordial world when it comes into shape,
And a tacit understanding,
Stops at the slight smile on lips.
You shake off gently
Motes of long-range raids of thousands of miles,
And I quietly pat my shoulders
To clean the wind and smoke that perch, and the hardships of travel,
Thus keep them outside of the door.
But with two hearts pure and simple,
We fish in a house quiet and beautiful,
Read books and spill tea when we’re not busy;
The beauty in red sleeves adds oil when she’s happy;
With a cup of clear tea,
We appraise the rise and fall of our lives,
And with a book of poetry,
Read through the vicissitudes of the world.
I build my hut where people crowd,
No noise of horses pulling carts,
Dwelling in a small room,
I can also play strings to my mind.
Playing a tune of marital harmony to know the tone of zithers,
I sigh for two lovers Liang and Zhu who transformed into butterflies.
In this life
I encounter you in this secular world,
Which turns out to be arranged by destiny,
And only with the original intention,
I go by your happiness and sorrow.
With your eyes full of tender feelings,
You make my lonely time verdant,
And I am stunned step by step,
Falling into your shell game of lovesickness.
Still in youth like water,
Even if time wanders about,
The wind and frost that time grants,
Or beauty, I gather up, encircle.
Those imprints cool or warm,
Are memories of love between you and me all the way,
And I don't pray her beauty to overturn a country,
Nor do I pray her beauty to overturn a city,
But pray her to feel at ease in life,
And stay with me until we're old.
