Gone is the lovely spring in wind and rain,
Ushered in by swirling snowflakes again.
Icicles on the cliffs drape long and high,
Your unique beauty catches everyone's eye.
For beauty of looks you never try to compete,
Just quietly announce spring's at our feet.
When mountain flowers are in full bloom,
There you are, smiling with sweet perfume.

Breeze and drizzle
Waved to Spring a wistful "good-bye";
"She's coming back,"
Snowflakes dance with balletic grace in the winter sky.
A spray of plum blossoms,
Elegant and nice,
Peeps out from a towering cliff
Enveloped in a thick, hard, crystal-like shell of ice.
Though elegant and nice,
She desires not to outshine the brilliance of other flowers,
But, as Spring's messenger, to herald its arrival
At this coldest hour.
When wild flowers brighten up the hill,
Here and there,
Among them will she smile
Sweet and fair.
