Chenggang, Professor of English, College of Foreign Languages, who is
mainly engaged in the teaching of translation theory and practice for
MTI students, and is a member of China Traditional Poetry Society and a
council member of Yunnan Translators Association. He is the author of

1. Seven-character Octave • Ode to Lotus (With another poem)

With full tender affection the blossoms have smile shy,
Thousands of the charming flowers rivaling here are found.
On the green leaves the bright dews roll greeting wind from the sky,
Red flowers bloom and attract fish in pond to swim around.
On Lotus by Zhou Dunyi it depicts its gracefulness,
Mengde writes well in lyrics of lotus’ morality.
Famous people can always interpret such plant’s kindness,
In their whole life they love to ode the lotus’ purity!
七绝•草原晨曲
绿草蓝天山万重，
初秋雾幕跑升腾。
群羊骏马欢声笑，
美女情哥挽臂行！

Over green grasses of mounts blue sky shines atop,
In early morn of autumn fog curtain rises up.
A flock of sheep bleat and horses neigh in love scene,

Passionate pony and ape are linked to the mountain.
Indulge no sensual pleasures as the cure is not done,
Do not seek joy after the spring has suddenly gone.
To climb to the attic I like to view the green mount,
Nested in the room I’d listen to the zither sound
And to melt my poetry into the wine deep and thick,
Leaning on the rail I wanna relieve the pain sick.
七绝•山村野趣
潺潺溪水绕东篱，鹅鸭成群复戏嬉。
两岸春光遮望眼，丝丝杨柳吻涟漪。
Seven-character Quatrain • Wildness in A Village
Around the eastern hedge the babbling brooks wind slow,
Flocks of the geese and ducks amuse themselves there.
Scenes on both sides of the river my eyes shadow,
With vernal wind myriads of willows kiss ripples here.

湖畔行闲步，伴秋风、瑟萧蒲苇，叶黄无数。衰草残荷香犹在，瘦水肥鱼欲舞。更苍劲、柏杉劲矗。雁阵南飞留感慨，望长空、云卷云舒处。过沃野，葳蕤住。
又观虚稗和实谷，不思量、悬殊结局，怎堪回顾？平仄流年将七秩，暗淡酸甜荣辱。常清醒、不图利禄。岁月栖额心不萎，再登高、大好夕阳度。枫染遍，莫耽误。
3. Congratulation to the Bridegroom • Autumn Feeling

Walk leisurely by lake lo, with the autumn wind’ blow, on dreary
pampas, countless leaves turn yellow. Withered grass and remnant lotus
fragrance is still in, fat fish dance in water thin. More vigorous, with
strength stands cypress gorgeous. Towards south flying the wild geese
are seen with left feeling, we are at the sky looking, clouds are
rolling and spreading. Pass the wide wildness of luxuriant plants down
hanging.
And view all real grains and barnyard grasses a few,
do not consider, the outcome of the disparity, how can I review? Even
and oblique tones sound for time of seventy-year, bright or dim, sweet
or sour, and disgrace or honor. Often sober, wealth and position not
pursue. Dwelling years my forehead wrinkles stay, but not wilt my heart
new, once again on the height I ascend, enjoying beautiful sunset scene.
Dye all maple trees red, no delaying.
4、七绝•秋 聚（外一首）

The mulberry and elm are at the dusk, don’t say,
The shade of barrier-free good autumn harvest aye!
