暮景斜芳殿，年华丽绮宫。
寒辞去冬雪，暖带入春风。
阶馥舒梅素，盘花卷烛红。
共欢新故岁，迎送一宵中。

New Year's Eve

Against dim twilight stands the palace of magnificence,
Ages of glory have enriched its royal opulence.
Snow melts away along with departing winter,
Early spring ushers warm breeze into my chamber.
The sweet smell of plum blossom permeates the air,
Red candles and floral offerings line up with flair.
Cheers to all the years together, past and new,
Such a festive night for greeting and adieu.

New Year's Eve

The grand palace basks in slant sunset light;
Glorified by seasons, it's magnificently bright.
Winter snow gone, adieu is bid by the cold;
Warmth will return with spring breeze, and take hold.
Scent of plum blossoms wafts over jade stairs,
Ribbon flowers charm amid red candles in pairs.
We celebrate the new year's arrival through the night,
Time after time the joyful fete reaches a greater height.

Grander with age it seems to become
Out goes coldness with the melting snow
In comes warmth when the spring winds do blow
Beside the steps, plums bloom sweet and fair
Dishes are served and red candles flare
Fill the Eve’s night with songs and cheers
Farewell to the old as New Year nears
唐太宗李世民，是唐朝第二位皇帝，汉族，陇西成纪人，祖籍赵郡隆庆(今邢台市隆尧县)，政治家、军事家、书法家、诗人。他是中国史上最出名的政治家与明君之一。唐太宗开创了历史上的“贞观之治”。他为后来全盛的开元盛世奠定了重要的基础，将中国传统农业社会推向鼎盛时期。
