Shopping in Kathmandu, Patan and Baktapur can be fun. You can find lot of art works like Thanka painting, wood carving, metal work artifacts.
Going shopping in Thamel can be fun. Thamel is the most tourist spot. Like the China town, You can find almost everything like climbing equipment, clothings, trekking gears, touristic souvenirs. You will enjoy or find choices of good restaurants in every city, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, korean, Indian and Nepali. Several great pizza places and cafes are available. People tired after a long hiking in the mountains and can hop into a spa or foot massage to get relief of your body pains in one of the spa in Thamel. Bars opens until 10 pm. Few has live music.
Earth quake in 2015 made a huge damage. Economically made a huge loss. But reconstruction was fast. Life came back and tourism flourished.
Covid19 made much more damage in every area, tourism was badly damaged and no tourism for almost 2 years. Lot of tourism related companies, shops, restaurants and souvenirs shops, few hotels were closed down and thousands of people lost their jobs, so many families went through a very hard life and suffering. Nepal has more than 4 hundred thousand workers in tourism alone.
Labour work in the middle east for Skilled and un skilled labour demand was so low or non from Middle East, no remitance getting into the country, no revenue from tourist was earned. Reserved forex is very low for last 2 years.
We need support from each of you to help promote tourism for Nepal to help the economy of Nepal. Your support will be highly appreciated. Tourism in Nepal slowly picking up again and we are excited. The covid is getting very calm in Nepal. Nepal is opened for tourist. On arrival visa is issued, except for few African nations. But we need much more tourist visiting Nepal.
This my Facebook post is a request to my freinds, excellencies and celebrities whom I know. Your words of mouth will be trusted and listened by your country people. Thank you!
Namaste and see you all in Nepal.
