Biography of Artist Wang He (Australia)
Wang He was born in 1957 and his ancestral home is Shanghai. He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Chairman of the Australian Calligraphers Association, and Senior Art Consultant of the World Federation of Poetry Societies.
Since his early years, he has had a profound passion for calligraphy. He initially started with the regular script styles of Ouyang Xun and Chu Suiliang, and later delved into the running and cursive script calligraphy works (including rubbings from stone inscriptions) by masters such as Mi Fu and Huai Su, practicing diligently day and night without interruption.
Over the years, his calligraphic works have frequently been selected for provincial, municipal, national (Chinese) and Australian calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and he has won numerous awards. His calligraphy is also often published in books, periodicals and magazines.
In 2002, he moved to Australia, yet he has never ceased his calligraphic creation. To date, he has published a number of calligraphy model books and written the book A New Interpretation of the Structure of Regular Script to share his insights and skills with fellow calligraphy enthusiasts.
