Ying Fenglin, Chairman of the Shennong Group in Linyi, awarded certificates to the winners of the 'Shennong Cup' youth chess competition in Linyi City in 2025.

Chinese chess is one of China's traditional intellectual sports, with a long history and rich cultural connotations. It can improve logical thinking and situational judgment skills. On August 20, 2025, under the meticulous planning and organization of Zhou Rujin, President of the Linyi City Chinese Chess Association, and Li Shiji, Vice President, the 'Linyi Shenmeng Cup' 2025 Linyi City Youth Chinese Chess Ranking Tournament was held at the Card Promotion Center on Jin Yi Road and Linxi Second Road in Lanshan District, Linyi City, Shandong Province. The event was hosted by the Linyi City Chinese Chess Association, Zhongpai Intellectual Sports Culture and Sports Innovation Base, and Yimeng Chess Institute, sponsored by Linyi Shenmeng Import and Export Co., Ltd. Li Kefeng, the spokesperson for the Linyi City Chinese Chess Association, provided news coverage.

本次比赛有来自临沂及周边地市共60位少年参与，最小的年龄7岁，他们在比赛中认真、细致、反复的思考和分析,象掑也是对于棋手的脑力训练，能提高思维能力

This competition featured 60 young participants from Linyi and surrounding areas, with the youngest being 7 years old. They thought and analyzed carefully, meticulously, and repeatedly during the event. Chess is also a mental exercise for players, which can improve their thinking skills.

比赛结束后,临沂神盟进出囗有限公司董事长杨凤林（中）、临沂市象棋协会会长周汝金（左）、临沂市象棋协会副会长李诗机（右）分别为获得荣誉的选手颁发获奖证书。

After the competition, Yang Fenglin, Chairman of Linyi Shenmeng Import and Export Co., Ltd. (center), Zhou Rujin, President of Linyi City Chinese Chess Association (left), and Li Shiji, Vice President of Linyi City Chinese Chess Association (right), presented certificates of honor to the winning players.

经过七轮的比赛，来自江苏省连云港市的王思朗夺得冠军，郯城县博育棋社的任洪志获得亚军，云峰棋社的王奕翔获得季军

After seven rounds of competition, Wang Silang from Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province won the championship, Ren Hongzhi from Tancheng Boyu Chess Club secured second place, and Wang Yixiang from Yunfeng Chess Club took third place.

云峰棋社：赵为，临沭：谢亚霖，滕州少儿棋院：张家豪，临沭博弈棋社：贲启轩，云峰棋社：白明铄，分别获得4至8名。

Cloud Peak Chess Club: Zhao Wei, Linshu: Xie Yalin, Tengzhou Children's Chess Academy: Zhang Jiahao, Linshu Game Chess Club: Ben Qixuan, Cloud Peak Chess Club: Bai Mingshuo, respectively won 4th to 8th place.

本次比赛有效提升了参赛选手的竞技水平，进一步推动了青少年象棋运动的普及与发展，为发掘和培养象棋后备人才发挥了重要作用。“马走日，象走田，车走线”其中却蕴含了深刻的道理,步步攻防见智慧，体现一种战略艺术的伟大意义。“一马当先”“棋逢对手”“马后炮”这些源于楚汉之争及象棋术语的词汇，也成为人们交流言谈中的常见用语。  

象棋手要有胜不骄、败不馁，沉着冷静、积极进取、遵规守纪、懂礼貌的良好品质,赛事的成功举办，有力促进了这一传统国粹在沂蒙大地的传承与弘扬。

This competition effectively improved the competitive level of the participants, further promoting the popularization and development of youth chess. It played a significant role in discovering and nurturing potential chess talents. The phrases 'horse moves in an 'R' shape, elephant moves in a '田' shape, and chariot moves along lines' contain profound meanings, showcasing wisdom in every move and the great significance of strategic art. Terms like 'leading the charge', 'meeting a worthy opponent', and 'rear guard attack', which originated from the Chu-Han Contention and chess terminology, have also become common expressions in daily communication. Chess players should possess good qualities such as not being arrogant in victory, not discouraged by defeat, staying calm and composed, being proactive, adhering to rules, and being polite. The successful hosting of the event has significantly promoted the inheritance and promotion of this traditional national treasure on the Yimeng land.

The participants were children from first to sixth grade, who took the competition very seriously. All the children who participated were excellent, and participating in the Yimeng Chinese Chess Competition was an honor for the young ones.
