话说阎应元抗清

阎应元者，江阴典史也。明崇祯十七年，京师陷，烈皇帝殉社稷。未几，清师南下，檄至江阴，命士民剃发。满城哗然，耆老恸哭于明伦堂前。应元时已卸任，居于砂山，闻之推案而起，裂衣为誓曰：“头可断，发不可剃；身可焚，城不可降！”遂单骑入城，众推为帅。

当是时，江阴蕞尔小城，户不盈万，墙垣颓败。清军提督刘良佐率十万众围之，以红衣大炮轰西门。应元登城抚垛，矢石雨下而不避。取笔题门楼曰：“八十日带发效忠，表太祖十七朝人物；十万人同心死义，留大明三百里江山。”夜半令童子歌岳武穆《满江红》，声激云霄，守军皆泣而砺刃。

闰六月初八至八月廿一，凡八十一日。城中粮尽，掘鼠罗雀；箭竭，以芦秆削尖为兵。清军屡树降旗，应元挽强弓射之，旗折三易。/百姓献家酿，应元倾酒于地，指北而誓：“此身可碎，此志不磨！”会中秋月明，携老卒数人登敌楼，吹胡笳至裂，清营闻之皆掩涕。

廿一日城破，应元乘瘦马驰巷战，手刃三骑。至栖霞禅院，见壁上文信国《正气歌》，仰天长啸，以佩剑刻“血溅孤城八十日，赤心永照大明土”于柱。力竭被执，挺立不跪。刘良佐持酒劝曰：“公若降，宰辅可期。”应元唾其面曰：“典史虽微，亦知忠义。岂若汝辈鬻发求荣乎！”引佩带自绞，不死；夺刀刺胸，血书“江阴义民”于壁而绝，年四十有二。

是役也，城厢死者六万七千余，无一人降。清军折将二十四，损卒七万五千。野史氏曰：夫阎公一介微吏，无熊虎之师，无金汤之固，唯以浩然之气激扬闾阎。当其振臂一呼，贩夫织妇皆化貔貅，稚子老翁俱成甲兵。昔田横五百犹存海岛之憾，江阴十万竟全忠烈之名。今观金陵梅花岭上，衣冠冢畔犹闻风雷之声；古运河边，每至秋深尚见霞如凝血。岂非正气长存，历劫不灭者耶？后之览者，当思此竹帛丹心，犹在天地呼吸之间。

Huang Qingbao, born in 1939, is a member of the Communist Party of China. His native place is Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, and he now resides in Shanghai City. He is a certification committee member of the Member Archive Database of the Chinese Poets and Writers Network, a certified poet and contracted poet of the Chinese Poets and Writers Network, a contracted writer and poet of the Red Lotus Literary Poetry Society, a contracted writer and poet of the World Writers' Lanyunfu Poetry Society, and the chief editor of the Chinese Poets and Writers Network. He has created more than a thousand pieces of prose, novels, and poems, which have been published on online platforms and newspapers and periodicals such as the Chinese Poets and Writers Network. He has won the Excellence Award of the First Feng Chusheng International Poetry Competition, the Outstanding Literature Award for Poets Contracted by the Five Academicians, the Strength Literature Award of the Golden Poetry Starlight Cup, the Chief Editor's Excellence Award of the Chinese Poets and Writers Network, and the Highest Honor Award for Leading Figures in Literature by the World Poetry Association · Chinese Poets and Writers. Currently, he is the executive chief editor of the Chinese Poets and Writers Network.
