Zhao Wensheng, a former senior calligrapher at the Ministry of Culture, serves as the honorary president of the Asia-Pacific International Economic and Cultural Integration Development Center. He is also a think-tank expert at the Eurasian Cultural and Economic Think-tank Alliance, the vice chairman of the CNR International Cultural Exchange Art Committee, a cultural and artistic mentor and advisor to central media, the art director of China TV, the vice president of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute, an artist wearing purple, red, and gold robes, the vice president of the Century Great Collection of Paintings and Calligraphy Institute, a visiting professor at the CNR Cultural Tourism International Development Center, an artistic advisor to the Social Art Committee of the China Oriental Cultural Research Association, an artistic advisor to the CCTV Cultural Industry Development Center, the chairman of the jury for the Asian International Youth Film Festival, the chief artistic chairman of Asian Culture, the chairman of the Art Committee of the China Calligraphy and Painting Trading Center, a director and specially-appointed expert of the Calligraphy Art Research Association of the China Couplet Society, and is recognized as a "Master of Chinese National Etiquette Art".
He has successively won the "World Peace Art Contributor" award. The "Excellent Mentor" award jointly presented by the Royal Spanish Academy of Arts, the Picasso Palace Museum, and the Barcelona Academy of Fine Arts. He has also been awarded the International Gold Medal Artist and the inaugural China Art Golden Horse Award. In 2025, he won the Da Vinci International Art Prize Gold Award. He has been described as the "Nobel Prize in Art" and is known as a "BRIC artist". He has also received the Hurun Global Art Golden Pen Award, the World Art Lifetime Achievement Award, the national "Five-One Project Award", and the "Confucius Medal Art Consultant". He was honored by People's Daily as a "Pioneer in Calligraphy and Painting Art in the New Era". His cursive script has received high praise from professors Fan Zeng and Xue Yongnian. He has authored multiple textbooks, monographs, and collections, which have been distributed nationwide. He has appeared on CCTV and the "Under the Pen" program on China Central Television. His works have been exhibited in the departure lounge of Beijing Airport, high-speed rail stations, and the Beijing Subway, influencing both domestic and international audiences. He has been recognized as a calligrapher and painter with the highest collection and artistic value in contemporary times. He has been awarded the title of "Model Worker" by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the title of "National Art Model Worker" by the China Literature and Art Publishing House, and the honor of "Art Model of the Republic" by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He has also been awarded the title of "People's Calligrapher and Painter" by the China Calligraphers Association and the China Artists Association. In the same year, he was honored by the CNR International Cultural Exchange Art Committee as a "Chinese Cultural Brand" figure. In 2023, he was specially awarded the title of "Founder of Yicao Calligraphy" by the "Cultural China Communication Ambassador". The long scroll "Notes on Yueyang Tower" was awarded the title of national treasure by a panel of experts and archived as a national treasure. In 2024, he was invited to record the "Happy Chinese New Year" program on China Education Television. In 2025, two works including the national treasure long scroll "Notes on Yueyang Tower" were promoted to Arab countries. He was hired as a calligraphy critic by the China Television Cultural Industry. Four of his Yicao works were uniquely selected for the 93rd National Day military parade as national gift plates.
