Seven-character Quatrain · Fasting on Vegetarian and Tasting the Chill

    悦性恬神对晚烟，

Calming the mind, soothing the spirit, facing evening mist,

    亭幽虚白试新泉。

In a tranquil pavilion, void and pale, I taste the fresh spring.

    春冰剪裂如霜雪，

The vernal ice splits and cracks like frost and snow;

    风利寒泓浸碧天。

The sharp wind, the cold deep water soak the azure sky.

作于2026年4月8日，海上怡趣堂。

Written on April 8, 2026, at Yiqu Hall by the Sea.
