The Venice International Art Biennale was established in 1895 and has been one of the most renowned cultural institutions in the world for over 120 years. As the oldest and most influential contemporary art event globally, it is hailed as the "Olympics of the Art World." It serves as a vital platform for the display of artistic strengths from various countries and international cultural exchanges. Along with Documenta in Kassel, Germany, and The Bienal Internacional de Sao Paulo in Brazil, it is known as one of the world's top three art exhibitions.

2026年第61届威尼斯国际艺术双年展——中国艺术特展周于当地时间2026年5月9日上午正式拉开帷幕，并于5月10日下午16时举办开幕酒会。威尼斯大学中文讲师，著名艺术策展人安娜（Anna）女士、著名艺术机构A plus A gallery展览管理负责人马可（Marco）先生、著名艺术机构Interactive Art Magazin媒体媒运营负责人赛琳娜（Selena）女士、著名艺术基金会Venice International Foundation展览负责人乔治奥（Giorgio）先生出席酒会。中方艺术家代表与外籍艺术机构负责人欢聚一堂，共同品鉴展出的艺术作品，探讨中意未来文化艺术发展方向，并给与展览高度评价。

The China Art Special Exhibition Week at the 26 (the note may omit/(should be the 61st, here just follow the original text to translate as "2026") ) 2026 61st Venice International Art Biennale officially commenced on the morning of May 9, 2026, local time, with an opening reception held at 4:00 pm on May 10. Ms. Anna, a Chinese language lecturer at Ca' Foscari University of Venice and a renowned art curator; Mr. Marco, the exhibition management head of the renowned art institution A plus A gallery; Ms. Selena, the media operation head of the renowned art institution Interactive Art Magazin; and Mr. Giorgio, the exhibition head of the renowned art foundation Venice International Foundation, attended the reception. Chinese artist representatives and foreign art institution heads gathered together to appreciate the exhibited artworks, discuss the future development direction of Sino-Italian cultural art, and spoke highly of the exhibition.

In the vast galaxy of art, there are always some artists who shine like brilliant stars, illuminating the sky of art with unique radiance. Gao Jieyu is such a remarkable artist. With a sincere love and persistent pursuit of art, he has crossed over half a century of artistic journey, using brushes and creativity to outline an art world full of warmth and power. Now, he has appeared on the stage of the 61st Venice International Art Biennial with his works and released a personal album album, which is undoubtedly another highlight moment in his artistic career.

Looking back at his artistic career, it was a journey full of legendary colors. From the Affiliated Middle School of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts to the Stage Art Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy, from the stage design of Sichuan Song and Dance Theater to the professor of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, he has taken one step at a time, constantly exploring the boundaries of art. He proved through his practical actions that art originates from life and transcends it. He delves into life, draws inspiration from the fertile soil of life, and then transforms these inspirations into stunning works of art.

In 2013, he held a solo art exhibition called "Western Sichuan Charm" in New York, USA, and in 2019, he held the "Looking Back at Time - Gao Jieyu's Art Path Exhibition" at the Sichuan Art Exhibition Center, both of which achieved great success. These exhibitions are not only a showcase of his artistic achievements, but also a dissemination and promotion of his concept of 'great art'. Now, his album album has been published, which is undoubtedly a concentrated presentation of his essence of art. Each artwork in the album is a precious imprint of his artistic career, recording his growth, exploration, and breakthroughs.

高玠瑜,中国美术家协会会员、四川美术学院教授、美国亚洲美术家协会会员暨该会成都代表、世界华人美术家协会终身荣誉主席、国际艺术家评估与推广委员会终身理事、香港书惠研究院特聘画家、中国诗书画出版社终身名誉社长、中国数字艺术馆馆长、四川徐悲鸿、张大千艺术研究院名誉院长、四川蜀都书画院顾问、四川九寨画院和四川天娇大熊猫画院荣誉院长、市政协书画院艺术委员、四川民建书画院顾问、成都市美术家协会写生艺委会副主任、西岭油画研究院副院长、四川美术学院老教授协会成都分会会长、四川美术学院成都校友会副会长。并被授予“当代中国艺术领军人物”、“全国百位优秀人民书画家”等荣誉称号。

1957年毕业于四川美院附中，1961年毕业于上海戏剧学院舞台美术系。后分配到四川省歌舞剧院任舞美设计，1986年调入四川美术学院任教授并兼任《四川美术学院设计装饰中心》董事长兼总经理。擅长油画、舞台设计、环境艺术设计等。

Graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts Affiliated Middle School in 1957, and graduated from the Stage Art Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy in 1961. Afterwards, he was assigned to the Sichuan Song and Dance Theater as a stage design designer. In 1986, he was transferred to Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts as a professor and concurrently served as the chairman and general manager of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts Design and Decoration Center. Proficient in oil painting, stage design, environmental art design, etc.

高玠瑜在学术和实践中提出“大美术”的概念，就是让美术不再局限于神秘的艺术殿堂，而是走进社会走进生活走进你我他。为此他作出了大半生的探索，取得了骄人的成绩。其作品经常参加国内外展出，获市、省、全国奖励，多次获金、银、优秀奖项，部份作品被国内外收藏。并于2013年五月下旬，应邀在美国纽约举办以“西蜀情韵”为题的个人画展，又于2019年4月以“岁月回眸——高玠瑜艺术之路呈现展”为题，在四川美术展览馆举办个人八十寿辰美展，均取得极大成功。另在舞台设计方面:《白毛女》《沂蒙颂》《观灯》《娄山关》等；环境设计方面：峨眉山（迎宾广场“秀甲天下”大瀑布景观），（重庆世界风光公园），成都（王府井电影城装修工程），（蜀都大厦营业厅装修工程），重庆现在最火的打卡地（洪崖洞民族风貌区“洪崖滴翠”大瀑布）等也取得了十分火爆的社会效果！这也就是“大美术”的理念与实践！

Gao Jieyu proposed the concept of "great art" in both academia and practice, which means that art is no longer limited to mysterious art halls, but enters society, life, and others. He spent most of his life exploring and achieved remarkable results for this. His works often participate in exhibitions both domestically and internationally, receiving awards from the city, province, and country. He has won gold, silver, and excellent awards multiple times, and some of his works have been collected both domestically and internationally. In late May 2013, he was invited to hold a personal art exhibition titled "Western Sichuan Charm" in New York, USA, and in April 2019, he held a personal 80th birthday art exhibition titled "Looking Back at Time - Gao Jieyu's Art Path Presentation Exhibition" at the Sichuan Art Exhibition Center, both of which achieved great success. In terms of stage design, there are works such as "The White Haired Girl", "Ode to Yimeng", "Watching the Lanterns", "Loushan Pass", etc; In terms of environmental design, Emei Mountain (Yingbin Square "Xiujia Tianxia" Great Waterfall Landscape), Chongqing World Scenic Park, Chengdu (Wangfujing Film City Decoration Project), Shudu Building Business Hall Decoration Project, and Chongqing's hottest check-in spot (Hongyadong Ethnic Style Zone "Hongya Dicui" Great Waterfall) have also achieved very popular social effects!
