About the Author

Wang Hongjuan, art name Huashanzi

A native of Luquan, Hebei Province, China.

She excels in classical poetry, loves ink wash painting, is skilled at cultivating flowers and plants, andenjoys sword dancing

She studied Chinese painting under Mr. Nie Yongshen, specializing in freehand brushwork of flowers andbirds.

Some of her paintings have been collected by renowned artists, and some of her poems have beenincluded in various anthologies.

Ten years I grind the ink, and ink grinds me in turn,

Past joys and hardships fade from memory’s burn.

Divine powers guard my spiritual way,

I walk through mortal trials, safe each day, with gratitude to stay.

The purest love deep in my heart I hold,

Turned into fine drips that gently unfold.

Plum shadows and faint fragrance float in dreams,

I journey to Tokyo as a guest, no bashful thoughts it seems.
