Wei Xinmin—Oriental Aesthetics, Global Resonance: Exemplary Figure in Cultural Globalization

Wei Xinmin, male, born in October 1962 in Yongji City, Shanxi Province, is a renowned Chinese two-brush calligrapher and national inheritor of Intangible Cultural Heritage (Two-Brush Calligraphy). He holds the titles of Master of World Culture and Art and Master of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage under the honorary program Glory of China, serves as Vice President of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute, is a Guinness World Record holder, and a Master of Chinese State-Gift Art. His two-brush calligraphy is hailed as an unparalleled art in China.

On May 27, 2014, CCTV Russian Channel conducted an exclusive interview and report on his two-brush calligraphy, especially his original creation of writing two fu characters simultaneously with two brushes. At the 2018 Global Chinese Spring Festival Gala, he created the cursive calligraphy Ode to Defending the Yellow River live on stage. He has won gold awards at numerous national and international calligraphy and painting competitions. The mottos he authored in 2007 were included in Mottos of Chinese Celebrities, and their English translations were compiled into Chinese and Foreign Philosophical Maxims. His two-fu artworks have been collected by the first President of Mongolia, President Martín of Peru, and other state leaders. He was warmly received by Li Jinhua, former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, who also collected his works.

His two-brush calligraphy is magical and exquisite, while the Two-Fu culture symbolizes celebration and good fortune. In 2018, his work Two Fu Characters was permanently engraved on the New Great Wall at Daling. His artworks have been printed in stamp albums distributed nationwide and across the globe. On December 31, 2023, he participated in the recording of China Education Television’s 2024 Spring Festival Gala, where his two-brush two-fu creation won the Gold Award for Outstanding Performance. As time goes by, two-brush calligraphy will serve as a bridge for cultural exchanges across the world.
