Xu Guanglei - "Oriental Aesthetics · Echoes Across the World: A Role Model for Cultural Export"

Xu Guanglei
Male, born in Shan County, Shandong Province, with ancestral roots in Pei County, Jiangsu Province. He is a pioneer of innovative ink wash painting.
Since the early 1980s, he has dedicated himself to researching original ink painting techniques, with his groundbreaking "water painting" standing out as his signature innovation. Over four decades of concentrated research, he has pioneered numerous breakthroughs in techniques, methodologies, painting tools and materials.
He broke the millennium-old convention that water-based ink techniques could only serve as background embellishments for landscapes rather than independent thematic works, expanding its subject range to flower-and-bird painting and figure painting.
