Leaving the city's din, I homeward go—
To mellow clay and soil, in homespun garb.
A young scholar, I chant my brisk song new.
Spring‑planted shade keeps guests to stay and sweep;
The sun moves flowers' shadows, calls bees to toil.
How fragrant is this home, these days we keep!
Note: “Choosing a home”（卜居）or “choosing a dwelling by divination,” alludes to a famous piece in Odes and Elegies (or Songs of Chu). In this work, Qu Yuan (c. 340–278 BCE), a poet and statesman of the ancient Chu state, articulates his profound moral conflict in the guise of consulting an oracle.

蔡世平，知名词人、国家一级作家、中国作协会员。曾任国务院参事室、中央文史研究馆中华诗词研究院副院长。代表作有《南园词》《南园词二百首》等。
CAI Shiping, a famous poet, a national first‑class writer, a member of China Writers’ Association, former Vice President of Chinese Poetry Research Institute of the Central Research Institute of Literature and History affiliated to Counsellors' Office of the State Council, among other positions. His literary works include South Garden Lyrics and 200 South Garden Lyrics, among others.

吕文澎，甘肃省天水人，西北师范大学副教授，硕士生导师，传统文化翻译与国际传播专业委员会、中国先秦史学会国学双语研究会及甘肃省翻译工作者协会理事，研究方向为应用语言学、译者行为研究与典籍翻译研究。

LYU Wenpeng, a native of Tianshui, Gansu Province; Associate Professor of English and MA Supervisor at Northwest Normal University, Director of Chinese Culture Translation and International Promotion Committee, of Chinese Classics Bilinguals' Association, and of Gansu Provincial Translators' Association. She specializes in applied linguistics and studies of translator behavior and of translation of Chinese classics.
