月亮呵——

你抵达的脚步声 

缓慢得像一片落叶 

走完整座秋天。

你的光 

是一匹滑向故乡的缎带。

缎带的那头，

萤火忽然亮起。

一屋子的笑脸围过来，

看着童年的我， 

捧出一盏 

晃动的桂花香。

倏忽间，

两张椅子已空成秋风，

剩下的我们，

各自望着各自的月亮。

你依旧高悬。

那扇旧门的木纹里， 

渐渐显出 

我的名字。

Mid-Autumn Moon

Oh, moon—

the sound of your footsteps arriving

is as slow as a fallen leaf

walking the length of an entire autumn.

Your light

is a bolt of satin sliding toward home.

At the other end of the satin,

fireflies suddenly light up.

A room full of smiling faces gathers round,

watching the child I once was,

holding out

a trembling lamp of osmanthus fragrance.

In an instant,

two chairs have emptied into the autumn wind;

those of us who remain,

each gaze at our own moon.

You still hang high above.

In the grain of that old door,

little by little,

my name appears.
