Sincere‑Hearted

In temperament,
sincere‑hearted.
When matters arise,
plain word for plain fact,
each statement clear and sound,
speaking out with frank release.
No beating around the bush,
no seeing things through mist,
no taking shortcuts to gain.
In bearing,
simple and honest;
in state of mind,
genuine and true.
No honey flows from his mouth,
no fancy blossoms soar in his heart.
Sincere‑hearted:
no frivolity,
no affectation,
no pretense.
Whole‑hearted in thought,
one affair at a time.
Within and without,
everything is genuine,
all laid out plainly and clear.
Though he may not win everyone’s favour,
his own heart dwells in joy.
Step by step leaves its mark,
feet planted firmly on the ground,
steady and unshaken.
