About the establishment of Soong Ching Ling Foundation: China Soong Ching Ling International Foundation

The Soong Ching Ling Foundation was established in May, 1982 at the initiative of Comrade Deng Xiaoping to commemorate the honorary president of the country, and to inherit and carry forward her unfinished business.

The historical evolution of Soong Ching Ling Foundation is briefly described as follows:

Foundation establishment

On May 29th, 1982, Comrade Liao Chengzhi announced at the Great Hall of the People that the Children's Science Park Foundation in memory of Soong Ching Ling's honorary president was formally established in Beijing today. Deng Xiaoping is honorary chairman, Kang Keqing is chairman, Liao Chengzhi is consultant and Wang Zhimin is secretary-general. The office of the Foundation is located in the former residence of Comrade Soong Ching Ling in Beijing.

Soong Ching Ling Foundation was first announced and then set up. In the process of preparation, relevant comrades think that the name of "Children's Science Park Foundation in Memory of Soong Ching Ling's Honorary President" has its limitations, which is not conducive to the foundation's work. Therefore, when drafting the foundation's articles of association, with the consent of Comrade Kang Keqing, the "Children's Science Park" was removed from the name, and the draft articles of association were reported to the Central Secretariat. With the approval of relevant leaders such as Xi Zhongxun and Hu Qili, the name was changed to "Soong Ching Ling National Honorary Chairman Foundation" (hereinafter referred to as Soong Ching Ling Foundation). Its purpose is to commemorate Soong Ching Ling's national honorary seat, inherit and carry forward the spirit of children's cultural, educational and welfare undertakings that she cared about and engaged in all her life, and cultivate children's morality and intelligence.

On December 11th, 1982, the General Office of the Central Committee of the CPC issued a notice: "With the approval of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, the foundation for commemorating Soong Ching Ling's honorary president of the country has been established. Deng Xiaoping is honorary chairman, Liao Chengzhi is consultant, Kang Keqing is chairman and Wang Zhimin is secretary-general. The Fund will co-locate with Comrade Soong Ching Ling's former residence.

Hold the first board meeting in Beijing

On the afternoon of December 28th, 1982, the first board meeting in Beijing was held in the Great Hall of the People. The meeting was presided over by Comrade Kang Keqing. Comrade Liao Chengzhi spoke at the meeting. Comrade Wang Zhimin reported on the work of the Foundation. The meeting reviewed and approved the articles of association of the foundation; The styles of the emblem, donation certificate and commemorative coin were determined.

Comrade Liao Chengzhi announced at the meeting that with the approval of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, Rong Yiren, Rong Gaotang, Gao Dengbang and Wu Quanheng (female) were appointed as the vice-chairmen of Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and Gao Dengbang was appointed as the executive vice-chairman.

Comrade Jiang Jingwen, the second secretary general, and Comrade Liu Shengquan, the third secretary general.

In order to better educate the next generation, after the foundation was established, it was decided to build a children's science park in Beijing with donations from domestic and foreign people. This decision was strongly supported by the Beijing Municipal People's Government and relevant departments, and it was decided that Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the Beijing Municipal People's Government would jointly build the Soong Ching Ling Children's Science Park in yuyuantan park. At the first meeting of Beijing Council, director Chen Xiangyuan (then director of Beijing Municipal Management Committee) reported on the preparation of Soong Ching Ling Children's Science Park.

After the news of the construction of Soong Ching Ling Children's Science Park in Beijing was published in People's Daily, relatives and friends of Comrade Soong Ching Ling, friendly people who admire Comrade Soong Ching Ling and overseas Chinese were very concerned about the construction of the "Soong Ching Ling Children's Science Park". Friendly people from Japan, the United States, Canada and other countries have set up Soong Ching Ling Foundation in their host countries with the main task of raising funds for the construction of children's science parks.

After several years of work practice, the foundation's career has developed. In order to meet the needs of career development, the Articles of Association was revised in February 1987. According to the Articles of Association, the purpose of Soong Ching Ling Foundation is: "To commemorate Soong Ching Ling's honorary president, inherit and carry forward her lifelong commitment to children's culture, education, science and technology and welfare, and cultivate children's healthy physical and mental development; Enhance international friendship and safeguard world peace; Realize the reunification of the motherland. " The revised draft of the Articles of Association was formally submitted to the Central Secretariat for examination and approval. In March 1987, its name was changed to "Soong Ching Ling Foundation".

In 1989, with the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee's consent, the General Office of the Central Committee of the CPC officially approved the idea of establishing the "China Overseas Peace Association" overseas. Considering the work of contacting relatives and friends of the Song family and overseas Chinese heads of state, the organization decided to send and appoint Comrade Wang Dongxi, a former soldier of the 8341 Central Guard Bureau recommended by Lin Xuemei, chairman of the Henan Returned Overseas Chinese Association, as the president of the overseas association and be responsible for the liaison work of the overseas Soong Ching Ling Foundation! And agreed to set up Soong Ching Ling Foundation in Wenchang County, Hainan District, Guangdong Province, to prove the importance and support of overseas relatives and friends of the Song family for the renovation of the ancestral home of the Song family in Wenchang! After Hainan Wenchang Soong Ching Ling Foundation hired Wang Dongxi, the first president of our association, as honorary president of Hainan Wenchang Soong Ching Ling Foundation! Our main responsibility is to contact Soong Ching Ling Foundation in the United States, Soong Ching Ling Foundation in Canada, Soong Ching Ling Foundation in Japan, Soong Ching Ling Foundation in Hong Kong and overseas Soong Ching Ling Foundation under construction, as well as overseas Chinese heads of state who recognize and respect Mr. Soong Ching Ling! Until the eve of the return of Hong Kong!

In 1997, when Hong Kong returned to China, our headquarters was officially located in Hong Kong, and we successively established an independent legal entity of China Soong Ching Ling International Foundation Investment Co., Ltd. and obtained the first-class association qualification recognized by the Hong Kong SAR government. Since then, China Soong Ching Ling International Foundation has been formally established, which is a first-class legal organization under the dual management of Hong Kong Liaison Office and Hong Kong Police Headquarters!

In December 1999, Wang Dongxi, the first president of China Soong Ching Ling International Foundation, visited Canada and had the honor to meet Kofi Annan, the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations. And actively explore the traditional Chinese medicine culture in China, and get the absolute approval of Kofi Annan! At the beginning of 2000, Kofi Annan Channel visited China to pay attention to and understand China's traditional Chinese medicine culture and China's great contribution in the field of human life. Annan pointed out that a considerable amount of herbal medicines collected by most developed countries in the world came from China, especially the wild yew which can't be ignored in the research and development of anticancer drugs needed by the rightmost people at that time!

To consolidate the turn of the century. In the same year, the first "World Health Culture Conference" cultural exposition was held, which was fully affirmed and supported by national leaders and Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council. The organizing committee of the World Health Assembly has been established one after another, and the headquarters is tentatively set in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The organizing committee of the conference is under the dual guidance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Health and Wellness Committee, and is strongly supported by ten ministries and commissions including the National Committee on Aging! The World Health Congress has also been recognized and supported by political leaders from Chongqing Municipal Government, Zhejiang Province, Fujian Province, Guangdong Province, Guangxi Province, Anhui Province and Shaanxi Province. Comrade Wang Dongxi is the honorary chairman of the conference, Professor Liu Fengzhen is the executive chairman of the conference, Sun Lizuo is the secretary-general of the conference, and Sean is the executive secretary of the organizing committee of the conference. He has a large pool of Chinese medicine health care talents and the first demonstration experience in promoting the formal and legal transformation of folk Chinese medicine into the national health care development path! Widely concerned and loved by folk Chinese medicine practitioners and Chinese medicine industry at home and abroad! The last 2019 was suspended due to the COVID-19 epidemic!

The China Soong Ching Ling International Foundation Expert Committee on Difficult Diseases was established in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, relying on the World Health Assembly. The Committee was organized by Wang Minqing, director of the Central Health Bureau, and Wang Wenzhong, director of the Central Health Bureau, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on August 27th, 2006. Officially, a wide range of assistant Chinese medicine hospitals have been practicing public welfare clinic activities nationwide. By the positive response of the national hospital of traditional Chinese medicine to carry out regular community street clinics of traditional Chinese medicine!

China Soong Ching Ling International Foundation takes it as its responsibility to carry forward Chinese traditional treasures and civilizations, adheres to the patriotic spirit of revolutionary pioneers such as Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching Ling, actively participates in the great rejuvenation of the nation in the new era of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, safeguards the authority of the CPC Central Committee, and contributes to international civil friendly exchanges!
