琉璃瓦映碧波光，

Glazed tiles gleam upon 

the rippling waves' soft glow,

太液池边翰墨香。

By Taiye Pool's edge, 

the scent of ink 

and brush does flow.

玉砚轻磨云作纸，

Jade inkstones gently ground

—clouds become the page,

银钩漫写月为章。

Silver brush-tips freely trace

—moonlight forms the stage.

风摇翠柳题春色，

露染红蕖醉夕阳。

Lotus blooms with dew, 

drunk in sunset's golden view.

一轴烟霞藏御苑，

A scroll of mist and rosy clouds 

the royal garden graces,

千秋笔墨颂华章。

A thousand autumns' brush 

and ink sing praises 

of these hallowed places.
