I try to gaze afar from lookout high;
My mind is broadened by the earth and sky.
Peaks in a row unfold a long, long scroll;
The grass spreads wide to gather up my soul.
Before the slope, clear a summer brook flows;
Through cloud gaps, golden the setting sun glows.
Astride a horse, my lofty feelings rise;
Now fine verses should be sung ’neath the skies.

I climb the observation deck to see the view,
Heaven and earth rush in—my heart is made anew.
Tiered peaks turn long ridges, unrolling like a scroll;
Grass spreading wide turns plains that gather in my soul.
At the slope foot, summer streams run green on their way;
Through cloud rifts, sunset pours its gold at close of day.
On the horseback, heroic feelings stir and soar;
Such fine lines fit to chant right here—and nothing more.

杨逸明，1948年生于上海，上海师范大学中文系毕业。第二届、第三届中华诗词学会副会长，原上海诗词学会副会长、《上海诗词》主编。现为中国作家协会会员、中华诗词学会顾问。已出版诗词选集有《飞瀑集》《新风集》等。
YANG Yiming, born in 1948, a native of Shanghai, China. He graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Shanghai Normal University. He was Secretary-general in 1999, then Deputy President and Secretary-general of Shanghai Poetry Society in 2004. He acted as Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Shanghai Poetry Journal. At present, he is a member of China Writers Association and Consultant of Chinese Poetry Society. He has published poetry selections such as Flying Waterfall, and New Trend Poems: Yang Yiming Selection. （吕文澎 译）

LYU Wenpeng, a native of Tianshui, Gansu Province; Associate Professor of English and MA Supervisor at Northwest Normal University, Director of Chinese Culture Translation and International Promotion Committee, of Chinese Classics Bilinguals' Association, and of Gansu Provincial Translators' Association. She specializes in applied linguistics and studies of translator behavior and of translation of Chinese classics.

Shu Enjiang, a native of Xinchang County, Zhejiang Province, holds a CATTI Level 2 Certificate in English Translation and is a Senior High School English Teacher.
