九日山以“山中无石不刻字”闻名于世，众多石刻群中，以现存的78方宋代以来的石刻最为珍贵，其中10方祈风石刻，更是世界仅存的为往来商舶祈求顺风和平安的文字记录。

The Jiurishan Mountain is renowned for the saying, "Every stone in the mountain is inscribed with words". Among the numerous stone carving groups, the most precious are the 78 surviving stone carvings from the Song Dynasty onwards. Among them, the 10 Praying for Wind stone carvings are the only surviving textual records in the world of prayers for favorable winds and safety from incoming and outgoing ships.

每一方石刻，都是一份珍贵的历史档案。位于西峰石刻群中南面中层南宋虞仲房等祈风石，便是现存最早的一方祈风石刻。

Each stone carving represents a precious historical archive. Located in the middle layer of the southern part of the Xifeng Stone Carving Group, the Yu Zhongfang Praying for Wind stone carving is the earliest surviving Praying for Wind stone carving.

关于祈风仪式的性质，位于东峰南麓石刻群中央悬崖的祈风石刻上有“遵令典”之说，位于西峰石刻群中南面下层的祈风石刻中也有“遵彝典也”一说，都说明九日山祈风仪式是当时出海时常见的祈祷仪式。

Regarding the nature of the Praying for Wind ritual, the central cliff of the Dongfeng Southern Foot Stone Carving Group has the phrase "Obeying Orders Canon", while the lower layer of the Xifeng Stone Carving Group has the phrase "Obeying Yi Canon". Both suggest that the Praying for Wind ritual on Jiurishan Mountain was a common practice for sailors departing on sea voyages during that time.
